Robert Keith Morton, CBO, MCP

 Qualifications and Certifications:

Keith holds 21 ICC certifications in the disciplines of Building, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Inspections. The certifications include Certified Building Official and Master Code Professional. Keith is a registered Building Code Official with the State of South Carolina.

Experience:

Keith has 38 years of experience as a code official. He served as a multi trade inspector for York County, South Carolina; Building Official for Rock Hill, South Carolina; Inspection Superintendent for City of Gastonia, North Carolina; Division Manager for Utilities Maintenance City of Gastonia, North Carolina.

Keith is the former President of Upper State Code Enforcement Association of South Carolina and served two terms as president of the Building Officials Association of South Carolina. Keith was honored as the Building Official of the Year by the Upper State Code Enforcement Association and received the Melvin Allen Educational Award.

Keith has served on several committees for the SBCCI including Nominating Committee; Education Committee; Resolution Committee; Life Safety Committee.

Keith has served on ICC committees including General Occupancy Code Action Committee including one year as chair; Building Codes interpretations, Committee; Joint Mechanical Certification Committee.

Keith Served on the North Carolina Building Inspectors Association Code Revision Committee.
