Qualifications and Certification:
Don holds 23 ICC certifications in the disciplines of Building, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire inspections, including ICC certifications as a certified Building Official, Master Code Professional and Fire Inspector I. Don’s certifications are available for review by request. Don is also a registered Building Official with the State of South Carolina Building Codes Council, and licensed as a South Carolina General Contractor Qualifying party and a South Carolina Home Builder (RB48252)
Experience:
Don has served as the Zoning Administrator and Combination Field Inspector for the City of Gaffney, Combination Field Inspector for the City of Conway and for the last eleven years has served as the Building Official for either the town of Surfside Beach, City of Gaffney, or Cherokee County, South Carolina.
Don is a member of several professional associations including the Upper State Code Enforcement Association, the South Carolina Building Official Association, ICC Region 8 Association and the Cherokee County Home Builders Association. A Seasoned Code Enforcement Professional, Don averages over 15 hours in continuing education per year.
